Order of the Arrow
Troop 995 OA Elections:

Elections for membership in the Order of the Arrow for Troop 995 are held annually during late February or early March.

The elections follow:
Guide for Officers and Advisers #34997A, Revised 1999
This book provides support for lodge leaders. It reflects the current policies concerning the organization and administration of the Order of the Arrow Lodge.  

Some important issues:

  • In order for elections to take place, at least 50% of the registered members of the troop must be present.
  • To be elected, at least 50% of those attending the elections must vote for that Scout.  
    There is no limit to the number that can be elected.
  • Eligibility is determined by the Advancement Chairperson and is approved by the Troop committee, 
    based on the criteria in the Guide above.
  • Adult Scouts are elected by the troop committee, per the above Guide, 
    and usually follows one adult per fifty registered Scouts .
  • A scout must be 13 years old or older.
  • A scout must be 1st Class or higher.
  • A scout must have participated in at least 15 days of camping in the last two years.
